How we pick our news stories and why.

Greetings Bloggers! I personaly would like to thank those who take time out of thier busy day to check this blog. I hope you find what you are looking for, and more. I just thought it would be different to tell our fellow bloggers and readers just how and why we pick our stories, and what the meaning behind our madness exactly is. When we surf the web, we go to many different news outlets, read the headlines, and pick a story that mabe just maybe, some one wouldn't think is news. You've probably seen on a number of occations stories from a newspaper called "The Park Falls Hearld". The (short) story behind that is that, Park Falls, Wisconsin is where my parent's grew up. It's not a big city. They barley push over 3, 600 residents. I'll have to check the sign again,... They keep messing with the population numbers everytime I drive up there. Park Falls is not, by any streatch of the imagination, a tourist mecca. It is, however a wounderfull town to raise your children in. It maybe a sleepy town, but trust me, stay awake in the summer time when the fair comes to town. the whole town comes out for it. As for the Omaha World Hearld, Omaha, Nebraska. My fiance's parent's and her general family live there. So everyonce in a while I will skim the Hearld's site and pick out something that may otherwise NOT be posted on the AP wire. If you haven't already figured it out. I'm from Florida. So I stick a story from the St Petersburg Times or the Tampa Tribune in there once in a while. After checking out those news sites. We go to sites from newspapers in random states and pick a random paper from a random town/city, and just pick a story. It could be any story that WE think is news worthy. As for a reporting style. I am strict about how we post the news from other papers. If you are going to blog it, using the blogger option on the Google Tool Bar, I tell our "reporters" to only high-lite the FIRST (1st) few sentences of the story. Making sure not to plagerize anything. Normally I'm the only one surfing the web and have time to post to the blog,. So me, Dallas Walker, and on the small occasion my Fiance, Whisper, will post. Yes we do put our name on the bottom of the blog. But, you could say we...I...us...whatever... do it the lazy way. If the reader wants to read more about the story that has been blogged, we have the story linked directly to the source of which it came from. After reading the story, the reader can see the reporter who wrote the story, and look around that particular site at thier leasure. Well there you have it. How we pick our stories. If you still have questions or just want to make a comment, feel free to email me at dallas.walker@gmail.com. If you would like to be a reporter for our little blog, send an email to the email address listed above. We always look forward to greeting new poeple and letting them report news stories that THEY think is news. Baisly... or unbiasly...
