Nobel laureate has Block Island ties: "This year�s Nobel Peace Prize was awarded on Dec. 10 to Kenyan native Wangari Maathai, for her work on reforestation in Africa and �her contribution to sustainable development, democracy and peace.� She is the first African woman to be so honored. "
